We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our legal team. In this role, you will be the backbone of our case management process, ensuring that documents are meticulously prepared, clients are consistently informed, and all administrative logistics—from file organization to local service of process—are handled with precision. The ideal candidate is a "self-starter" who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands that the small details make the biggest difference in legal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Case Preparation & Document Management

• General Drafting: Prepare initial drafts of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, affidavits, and standard correspondence.

• Indexing & Paginating: Organize voluminous discovery bundles and court records. You will be responsible for creating comprehensive indices and ensuring all pages are correctly numbered and cross-referenced for easy retrieval during trial or hearings.

• Updating & Ordering Files: Maintain both physical and electronic filing systems. You must ensure that every file is kept in chronological order and that all recent correspondence or court orders are filed immediately.

Client & Professional Relations

• Attending to Client Queries: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing status updates and gathering necessary information while maintaining strict professional boundaries.

• Courtesy & Follow-up Calls: Conduct proactive outreach to clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel to ensure deadlines are met and relationships are maintained.

• Service of Process: Coordinate and, when necessary, personally handle the service of legal documents to ensure they are delivered in accordance with statutory requirements.

Financial & Field Duties

• Drafting of Bills: Assist in the billing cycle by drafting invoices, tracking billable hours, and preparing "Bills of Costs" for court submission.

• Driving & Logistics: This position requires local travel. You will be responsible for driving to courthouses, client offices, or various government agencies for filings, document pickups, and deliveries.
