History:

Sophia heads our Immigration Department and firmly believes that a cosmopolitan society benefits everyone. Her goal is to make visiting and relocating to South Africa as seamless as possible. She is dedicated to ensuring that your immigration application is legally compliant and meets current Home Affair’s requirements.

Sophia provides comprehensive support to immigration clients throughout their journey to, or continued stay in, South Africa.

The South African immigration system can often seem daunting and complicated. With expert legal services, you can have peace of mind knowing that your application will be managed from start to finish. Sophia believes that clients should be fully informed and understand the procedures and laws, relieving them of the burden of navigating the process alone.

Sophia is here to assist you with the cumbersome paperwork so you can focus on what truly matters when settling in. We hope your move to South Africa exceeds all expectations.

Before starting her career in law, Sophia earned her BCom degree at the University of Pretoria, majoring in history, sociology, and communication management. Her passion for human rights and social justice led her to complete her LLB at the University of the Witwatersrand.

By utilising the services of a practising attorney for visa and permit applications, our clients can be assured that their applications comply with statutory requirements. This aligns with Sophia’s belief that everyone is entitled to just administrative action.

Sophia has specialised exclusively in immigration law for over a decade and assists with:

  • Critical skills visas
  • General work visas
  • Digital nomad visas / Remote work visas
  • Spousal / “life-partner” visas
  • Relative’s visas
  • Study visas
  • Business visas
  • Retired persons visas
  • Permanent residence permits
  • “Good Cause” applications
  • Overstay appeals / Prohibition appeals / Removal of name from the v-list
  • Appeals / reviews
  • Waiver / exemption applications
  • Asylum seekers and refugees: Visa and permanent residence permit application

Sophia will provide tailored advice during your consultation. For spousal or “life-partner” visa applications requiring a notarial cohabitation agreement, we are happy to assist. If you have a long-outstanding application, Sophia will evaluate its merits, and our litigation team will assist with an application to compel the Department of Home Affairs to finalise your case.
