Dirk Schoeman

Dirk obtained his B Iuris degree in 1993 and LLB in 1995 from the University of the Free State (UFS) and then started working as a clerk at Symington de Kok Attorneys. He was admitted as an attorney, notary and conveyancer in Bloemfontein in 1997.

From there he moved to Kroonstad where he went into partnership and crossed paths with Barend Kruger. In 2006 he made Bloemfontein his new home where he opened his own firm and practiced as Schoeman Attorneys until his arrival in George in the Garden Route in 2020. Here he established himself as one of the leading and senior conveyance attorneys.

Schoeman says the work is sometimes very challenging. “In most cases, one does much more than just legal work. Every transaction is unique and every party involved is different. So this is where I find satisfaction – by respecting the trust that people and clients place in me and doing my job in such a way that every party’s expectations are met. People appreciate lawyers with integrity and who treat every person who walks into their office with respect.”

His “open door” policy serves him well and he prides himself on being personally involved in the entire conveyancing and other processes as well as having open communication channels with all parties involved in all matters.

Dirk also provides fiduciary services including the drafting of wills as well as the administration of estates.

In 2024 Dirk Schoeman and Barend Kruger decided to go into partnership and together they started Kruger-Schoeman Attorneys in Stilbaai, with a further office in Oudtshoorn.
