Dimitri Cavvadas

Dimitri Cavvadas is a dual-qualified corporate and commercial lawyer (South Africa and the UK) with extensive experience advising on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and capital markets transactions. He has worked across multiple sectors, including natural resources, life sciences, and technology.

Having practised in both the London and Johannesburg offices of leading international law firms, Dimitri brings deep transactional insight and international perspective to complex, multi-jurisdictional matters.

His areas of expertise include:

• Equity capital raisings on the JSE and international exchanges
• Transaction structuring and legal implementation
• Regulatory compliance and due diligence investigations
• Securities law compliance across multiple jurisdictions
• Advising issuers, underwriters, and corporate advisors on African transactions

In addition to his transactional practice, Dimitri has considerable experience drafting commercial agreements, including:

• BEE structures and sector-specific agreements (e.g. royalty, earn-in, and JV agreements in the natural resources sector)
• Corporate governance documents such as Memoranda of Incorporation and shareholders’ agreements
