Phuti Michael Lefoka – Founder & Principal Attorney, Phuti Lefoka Attorneys Inc.

Phuti Michael Lefoka, a seasoned legal practitioner and passionate advocate for justice, was born on 24 February 1984. His path toward a distinguished career in law was evident from an early age, marked by academic dedication and a steadfast commitment to excellence.

Mr. Lefoka began his educational journey in 1989 at Legaseane Pre-School. In 1990, he enrolled at Mothiba Primary School, where he completed his foundational education. His formative years instilled in him the values of discipline, resilience, and a thirst for knowledge. In 1997, he progressed to Mothimako High School, where he excelled academically and graduated in 2001 with two distinctions in Business Economics and Economics—early indicators of his analytical thinking and strong grasp of complex subject matter.

In pursuit of his dream of becoming a legal professional, Mr. Lefoka enrolled in the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program at the then University of the North, Turfloop Campus, in 2002. During his years at university, he developed a deep understanding of South African law and honed the legal reasoning skills that would later define his practice. He successfully completed his degree in 2006.

Recognizing the importance of practical experience, Mr. Lefoka attended the Polokwane School for Legal Practice under the Law Society of South Africa in February 2007. There, he completed his Practical Legal Training in July of the same year, equipping him with critical courtroom and client-handling skills.

Shortly thereafter, on 2 July 2007, Mr. Lefoka began serving his articles of clerkship with the reputable law firm Moseamo Papola Attorneys Inc. His diligence, professionalism, and commitment to justice earned him admission as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa on 5 May 2009. He remained with the firm as a Professional Assistant until 1 February 2010, gaining valuable experience in civil and criminal litigation.

In February 2010, driven by a desire to serve the public and sharpen his courtroom expertise, Mr. Lefoka joined the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) as an Aspirant Prosecutor. On 1 October 2010, he officially qualified as a Prosecutor and was stationed at the Praktiseer Magistrate Court, where he handled district-level prosecutions. His journey in the NPA continued with assignments at Rustenburg Magistrate Court in 2011 and later at Belfast Magistrate Court from 2012 to 2018, where he served as an Advanced District Court Prosecutor. During his tenure, he built a strong reputation for fairness, precision, and unwavering ethics in the administration of justice.

In 2018, after more than a decade in both private and public legal service, Mr. Lefoka realized his vision of founding an independent legal practice. He established Phuti Lefoka Attorneys Inc., a law firm rooted in principles of justice, integrity, and client-centered service. Under his leadership, the firm has grown steadily, offering a wide range of legal services including civil litigation, criminal defense, Road Accident Fund (RAF) claims, deceased estates, and immigration matters—particularly assisting foreign nationals in navigating complex legal procedures in South Africa.

With over 16 years of post-admission experience, Mr. Lefoka brings a wealth of knowledge, courtroom experience, and strategic insight to every case he handles. Known for his methodical approach and genuine concern for clients’ wellbeing, he continues to advocate fiercely for justice while upholding the highest standards of legal practice.

Today, Phuti Michael Lefoka is not only a respected attorney but also a trusted advisor to individuals and communities alike. His career reflects a lifelong commitment to the rule of law, social justice, and the empowerment of others through legal excellence.
