History:

Dumisani is the Director at Morolong Inc. a boutique commercial law practice in Midrand, Johannesburg.

He graduated with an LLB Cum Laude degree from the University of Zululand in 2000 subsequent to which he served articles of clerkship at Woodhead Bigby and later Norton Rose Fulbright both in Durban.

He got admitted as an Attorney in June 2003.

After a short spell with the University of Zululand, as temporary lecturer, Dumisani joined the Competition Commission SA as graduate trainee and later Legal Counsel.

In June 2009 he accepted an invitation to assist in setting up and managing the legal services division of the Gauteng City Region Academy, which he did from June 2009 until this division was incorporated into the legal services division of the Gauteng Education Department in February 2010.

In March 2010 he joined the corporate commercial department of KRB Law Firm as Legal Consultant, specializing in competition law advisory.

From October 2010 until October 2017, he was Legal Counsel at ArcelorMittal South Africa, responsible primarily for Competition Law risk management and advisory.

In November 2017, Dumisani returned to private practice and founded Morolong Inc.

His areas of speciality include intellectual property, competition Law and entertainment law where he advise primarily composers, authors and performers (artists and actors) on the legal and other aspects of the music and film business.

Dumisani also serves as member of the Risk and Governance Committee of the South African Music Performers Association (“SAMPRA”).
