History:

Anisha Hassen-Ismail is a consultant to the firm. Anisha joined Clarks Attorneys in September 2016. She was admitted as an attorney and notary in October 2017, and practised as an Associate attorney at Clarks Attorneys. Born and raised in Canada, she completed a four year BA degree at the University of Toronto (Victoria College) in 1995, double majoring in philosophy and history. After relocating to South Africa, she completed a post graduate LLB degree at the University of Witwatersrand in 1999.

From 2000 until 2015, Anisha chose to be a stay-at-home mother to her two growing boys. During this time she freelanced as a product and portrait photographer and was involved in various charitable initiatives. In 2016, Anisha continued her legal training and attended the Law Society’s School for Legal Practice in Johannesburg. She was awarded a certificate by the Law Society for highest overall achievement in her class.

Anisha is drawn to family law by her desire to help individuals, hoping to ease some of the anxiety which comes naturally from the stressful transition into the next chapter of their lives.
