History:

Emile Schmidt holds the degrees BA LLB (University of Stellenbosch).

He worked as a public prosecutor from December 1988 until April 1990 and served his articles at Loots, Steenkamp Attorneys in Pietermaritzburg, Kwa-Zulu Natal where after he was admitted to practice in June 1992. He remained with Loots Steenkamp Attorneys as a professional assistant until September 1994. He practiced for his own account as Emile Schmidt Attorneys in Pietermaritzburg from October 1994 until December 1998.

In January 1999 he joined the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund in Botswana as Claims Manager and headed the legal department until end December 2001. He joined Minchin & Kelly Attorneys in Botswana as Professional Assistant attending to High Court litigation and commercial matters.

In July 2003 Emile joined Mosdell Pama & Cox Attorneys, Knysna as a partner and headed the civil litigation (Magistrate and High Court) department and also attended to commercial work.

Emile joined Sohn & Associates Attorneys in May 2013 and does civil litigation (Magistrate and High Court) and also commercial work.
