Claire obtained her B.A (Law) as well as her LLB degrees at the University of Stellenbosch, completing her studies in 2002.

She secured her articles with the specialist personal injury firm, Henry Shields Chiat, in 2003. She completed her articles at De Vries Shields Chiat in March 2005, whereafter she was admitted as an attorney.
