Gert Brummer completed a B Proc degree at UNISA. He served as Senior Public Prosecutor and Magistrate before being admitted as an Attorney in 1978. He is a Director at van Heerden and Brummer.

Mr Brummer is a past Chairman of the Mpumalanga Rugby Union's Disciplinary Committee and presently serves as honorary Vice President.
