Before establishing her legal career, Unopa built a profound foundation in the medical sector. She holds a Diploma in general nursing (United Bulawayo Hospital in 1990), a Diploma in midwifery (Baragwanath Hospital in 1995), and a Certificate in Occupational Health Nursing (Witwatersrand Technikon in 1995). She further advanced this expertise with a B.Tech OHN and a BA CUR. This staggering, verifiable medical background gives her unparalleled authority and insight when training municipalities on the National Health Act and drafting complex Municipal Health By-Laws.

Supplementing her medical credentials, Unopa holds a Diploma in business management, an LLB, an LLM from North West University, and a Post Graduate Diploma: Financial Planning from the University of Free State.
