Simon Dippenaar is the Founder and Managing Partner of SD Law (Simon Dippenaar & Associates Inc). An admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa and a registered member of the Legal Practice Council, Simon holds a Bachelor of Business Science (BBusSc), a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), and a Professional Diploma in Legal Practice (PDLP) from the University of Cape Town. Known for his unwavering dedication, diplomacy, and deeply compassionate approach, Simon has built a formidable national reputation for successfully cracking highly complex, high-stakes cases where his competitors have failed.

A HIGH-EQ APPROACH TO LAW

Clients and colleagues alike know Simon for being exceptionally calm under pressure, commercially aware, and intensely focused on practical outcomes. He is renowned for seamlessly combining robust legal strategy with deep emotional intelligence (EQ) and disciplined execution. His unique approach to the law was recently highlighted in a TEDx talk by Craig Wilkinson, Founder and Executive Director of Father A Nation, who described Simon’s methodology as one that strives to achieve "high-EQ win-win" resolutions. His devotion to the legal profession and his compassionate handling of sensitive matters have also earned him profound public recognition and endorsements from esteemed organisations, including the Reeva Steenkamp Foundation.

AWARD-WINNING EXCELLENCE & INNOVATION

Simon’s dedication to modernising the legal sector and delivering unparalleled client care has been extensively recognised across the industry. Under his leadership, SD Law was awarded the MEA Business Awards: Family & Divorce Law Firm of the Year 2025 - South Africa, and was shortlisted in the 'Most Innovative Law Firm' category at the African legal innovation and technology awards. Simon himself was individually honoured with the prestigious Global Lawyer Leader in Property Law Award 2026, a direct reflection of his formidable expertise in complex property and eviction litigation.

His vision for the legal industry goes well beyond the courtroom. Simon is a modernising force, driving SD Law to become a completely paperless, AI-aware, and deeply client-centred specialist firm. He is also passionately committed to public legal education, investing heavily in empowering the public through extensive articles, practical guides, newsletters, and a comprehensive library of YouTube legal explainer videos covering everything from family law to emerging tech legislation.

COMMUNITY COMMITMENT & CIVIC DUTY

Beyond his corporate and private practice success, Simon is defined by his profound ethical responsibility and dedication to community upliftment. He is fiercely committed to serving the less fortunate and remains on record in one of South Africa’s largest mass eviction cases in Marikana, where he represented the unlawful occupiers on a pro bono basis to fiercely protect their constitutional right to adequate housing.

Professionally interconnected and dedicated to civic duty, Simon serves as an executive member and the Head of Finance for the South African Police Services (SAPS) Forum. He is also a long-standing, active member of Rotary International and a member of the Cape Chamber of Commerce, consistently bringing his signature blend of strength, diplomacy, and empathy to his wider community.
