Van Zyl, Le Roux Inc was founded in 1943 by Koen van Zyl under the name Hammersma & Van Zyl, ever since, the firm has grown in stature and reputation. Etienne le Roux, who was President of the Law Society of Transvaal, later joined him. The current Chairman, Johan Hurter, joined the firm in 1967 and the name was changed to Van Zyl, le Roux & Hurter.
The firm was incorporated in 1989 and currently employs 15 attorneys, with a staff complement of more than 100 people. We are recognised as one of Pretoria's leading law firms and strive to have a hands-on approach - for us this mean to be accessible to each of our clients.
Currently 36% of our staff qualifies as Historically Disadvantaged Individuals. The company has an Employment Equity Forum which meets regularly to discuss issues of Employment Equity and the Employment Equity Plans which are submitted to the Department of Labour. 10 Black staff members have been identified for specific skills development.
