Founded in 1922 by Thomas Theodore Woodhead, the practice built a strong reputation in the fields of business, commercial and property law, and in the sphere of specialized High Court litigation.
Huntly Bigby joined Theo Woodhead in 1946 after the Second World War, and served as Senior Partner from Woodhead's retirement until 1987. His son, Scott Bigby, became a partner in 1984.
Bedver Irving joined the practice on 1 April 1972 as a candidate attorney to Huntly Bigby, was appointed as a partner on 1 March 1975 and Senior Partner on 1 August 1987. He is the current Managing Director, the practice having incorporated as a company on 1 May 2000.
