History:

Delia De Vries started her legal career with Unisa in the Department of Private Law, under the supervision of Prof Marinus Wiechers, who later became chancellor of the university. She later joined the Road Accident Fund, where she was promoted to the position of Regional Manager of the Johannesburg Branch.

Delia went into private practice after being headhunted by Routleges, now Eversheds International. From there, she entered into partnership with Monique Woods under the name and style of Woods & De Vries. After the demise of Ms Woods,  she took over the entire practice and joined forces with Oeloff De Meyer, a well-known and respected criminal law expert. The partnership was styled as De Meyer De Vries Attorneys in 2009, and is continuing as such.

Delia specializes in Cilvil Litigation, Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury, Police Brutality and Family Law. She is a registered Poslec-Sita training and development Practitioner and continued to lecture for candidate attorneys under the auspices of LEAD the training arm of the Legal profession until 2010. She is also qualified as a Company Secretery and is an affiliate of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators.

Delia made history with when she acted for Alex Carmichael, in a first of its kind case. Alex sussessfully sued the Minister of Police for negligence and receiced a substantial reward. Delia regularly appeared on Carte Blance and other media outlets for her groundbreaking work in Police Brutality.

She also acted for the alienated daughter of Nelson Mandela, who uncessesfully sought to establish contact with her father before his passing.

She scaled down her practice after the tragic passing of her beloved son in Benjamin in 2016.

After a well deserved respite from the demands of the legal profession, she has now joined forces in association with Wilhelm De Wet Attorneys; a well established firm of Attorneys in the Southern Cape.

Delia is also currently focusing her attention on the governmental overreach of constitutional issues such as mandatory vaccinations.
