Karabo has over 18 years solid, legal experience and expertise in corporate commercial law; dispute resolution; international trade law; sports and entertainment law and management; business and leadership development, having represented and acted for many various corporations and individuals in South Africa and internationally.
Karabo was a Director and co-founder of MVMT Attorneys Inc, a multi-disciplinary law firm in Johannesburg. He was also the Executive Strategic Support to the Chairperson of the National Consumer Tribunal.
Karabo gained good experience and added value whilst working in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate commercial law, BEE and new business development while employed as Legal Advisor at Peotona Group Holdings, founded and managed by 4 phenomenal, prominent South African businesswomen.
Karabo has also worked as Legal Counsel at Absa (now known as Barclays Africa) in Corporate and Business Banking (business rescue and recovery) and the office of the General Counsel - sponsorships, corporate social responsibility (CSI) and sanctions teams. His duties included business-driven legal advice, negotiating, drafting and vetting various commercial agreements and documents. He was actively involved in CSI activities on the legal side in terms of work and on a volunteer basis (including chairing the Legal Division’s CSI team), winning 2 consecutive annual awards as a result. He was also Chair of the Financial Cluster Diversity Forum.
Karabo has worked at Routledge Modise Attorneys (currently known as Hogan Lovells South Africa) as an Associate and Candidate Attorney in commercial litigation, property law, personal injury, sports and entertainment law, international trade law (emphasis on anti-dumping).
In the above organisations, Karabo has been involved and worked in various multi-million rand and multi-billion rand transactions and matters. He is entrepreneurial, philanthropic and a visionary with a passion for people, sport, community development, empowerment and excellence.
He is also a value adding board and board committee member and director of some companies and non-profit, philanthropic entities.
