Martin is a Director at Le Roux & Du Plessis Attorneys and heads up its Family Law Department.  As Head of the Family Law Department, Martin deals with complex divorce cases involving maintenance, domestic violence, custody, interpretation of complex remuneration schemes, finding hidden assets, and liberating cash to allow clean-break settlements.  

Martin-Dean has more than 22 years’ experience in litigation and has written numerous Law Articles and opinions in various magazines, newspapers and journals.  Martin is a highly experienced litigation lawyer, having qualified as an Attorney and with the right of appearance in the High Court of South Africa.  Martin obtained his B Proc degree from the University of Port Elizabeth and graduated from the University of Port Elizabeth in 1995 whereafter he served as a Public Prosecutor before committing himself in establishing his own law firm Martin Hayward Attorneys in 1999 where he specialised in Family- and Criminal Law as well as High – and Magistrate Court litigation.  He then joined Mr Louis Shapiro and practiced under Shapiro & Shapiro Inc. until 2018 where he specialised in Family Law as well as High Court and Magistrate Court litigation.  

Martin-Dean also partakes in various litigation matters as well as Criminal Matters.
